Patron Saint Festivities for Our Lay of Peace

January 16 - 24, 2016

Every year in January, the little town of Bucerías, Nayarit, hosts a festival celebrating Our Lady of Peace (La Virgen de la Paz,) who is the patron saint of fisherman and the local Catholic church. The fiesta lasts for nine days, during which the streets fill up with vendors of everything under the sun as well as scores of carnival rides.

Among all the cultural activities, is the maritime pilgrimage from La Cruz de Huanacaxtle all the way to Bucerías with dozens of boats escorting the Peace Torch.
